Travis Hackney

Travis served as the Vice Mayor of the City of Blanchard and retired from Tinker Air Force Base after a distinguished career. Following his retirement, he dedicated his time to raising cattle until his health prevented him from continuing. A disabled Vietnam veteran, he suffers from severe neuropathy caused by exposure to Agent Orange, as well as atrial fibrillation and multiple heart stents.

Dennis Grove

Military Service:

  • Branch: U.S. Navy – River Patrol, Vietnam
  • Title: Petty Officer 3rd Class
  • Duration: 2 years active service, followed by 2 years in the Naval Reserve before receiving a medical discharge

Health:

  • Currently battling congestive heart failure, supported by an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) to boost heart function
  • Suffered a heart attack 25 years ago this January; was resuscitated after being shocked 9 times by his team at the fire department

Firefighting Career:

  • Department: Moore Fire Department
  • Service Length: 30 years
  • Rank at Retirement: Lieutenant
  • Served during both major Moore tornado disasters
  • Responded to the Oklahoma City bombing (Murrah Federal Building)
